Asking For Problems
Life is full of problems. The more we solve them, the more new ones appear. We can sweep our problems under the carpet or run away from them but sooner or later we will have to come face to face with them. Since this is a fact of life, we may as well develop some skills on how we can handle the problems in life.
For every problem, there should be a solution. Whenever we encounter any problem that has no solution, it may well be that it is not a problem to begin with. So the first step to solving any problem is to make sure that the problem is genuine.
One of the best ways to handle problems is to have the right attitude towards them. Sometimes, problems may be blessings in disguise. Problems create opportunities for us to grow and to become better human beings. At times, problems hide opportunities not only for personal growth but also to create wealth and success. Problems are also always a learning experience. We don't actually realise that fire burns until we get burnt by it. Unless a problem occurs, we do not learn why something happens the way it does. We cannot change our viewpoints and opinions unless we experience the problems first hand.
However, most people have some perceived notion that making a mistake or having a problem is ‘bad’. Instead of looking for ways to solve the problem, they try to live with it, cover it up or condition themselves to accept it. However, covering it up is like putting a sheet of aluminium foil over a piece of spoilt meat and expecting it not to attract maggots. Thus, instead of avoiding the problem, we should attack the core of the problem. Dig until we uncover it. Face the facts and admit that we have a problem. The worst thing to do is to try to make people think that we are problem-free. It's unnatural. Only dead people lead problem-free lives.
So, the next time you have a problem look at it logically and with enthusiasm. That may sound a little strange but most problems can be dealt with this way. Love the fact that you have problems because they will give you something to work on and solve. They will also give you a way to invent new ways of doing something; new ways that will save you time and make you happier with your life. And when you have solved the problems, you not only gained experience in solving other problems as they occur, but you build respect for yourself. Then you can have the admiration of all those people who encountered the same problems but didn't do anything to solve them.
You will soon realise that when you look at problems with a positive mind, you will accomplish more, relieve stress and succeed. So, let’s ask for more problems and embrace them as they emerge for they are the exercises that we need to strengthen and toughen our fragile minds.
